At E-WERF, we recently successfully converted a Da Vinci 29 to hybrid propulsion. This vessel, known for its timeless design and high-quality finish, is now equipped with a Combi EPS 15kW Hybrid motor, linked via a belt drive directly on the propeller shaft. This solution not only offers the possibility of fully electric cruising, but also retains the efficiency of the combustion engine for longer trips.
The 15kW electric motor provides enough power to glide the Da Vinci 29 smoothly and quietly through the water. In electric mode, the skipper experiences whisper-quiet sailing without vibrations, ideal for quiet trips through nature reserves or city waters. As soon as more power is needed, the diesel engine can be easily switched on. This hybrid system ensures the best of both worlds: emission-free cruising where possible and extra power when needed.
The choice of a belt drive on the propeller shaft has several advantages. First, the belt drive ensures efficient and wear-free transmission without the need for additional gears or couplings. In addition, the system minimises mechanical resistance, ensuring higher efficiency and less maintenance in the long run.
Hybrid boating is tailor-made. No two boats are the same so we are happy to think along with you about the possibilities. We warmly invite you to visit us. We can show you what we do at our yard. On the basis of completed projects and our experience, we can then advise you on the best hybrid solution for your boat so that you can also sail hybrid.
