Helios Omega 7.2 electric day cruiser sailing on open water

E-WERF AND HELIOS MARINE BRING THE OMEGA 7.2 TO THE NETHERLANDS

Fast, comfortable and with a long range.

E-WERF is proud to be working with Helios Marine. With the Helios Omega 7.2, we are bringing a fully electric day cruiser to the Netherlands that perfectly aligns with our vision of quiet, clean and carefree boating. The Omega 7.2 was developed from the drawing board as an electric boat. It is not an existing hull into which an electric motor was fitted at a later stage, but a well-thought-out overall concept in which the hull, propulsion system, battery pack, solar power and controls are fully coordinated.

For E-WERF, this is a logical step. For years, we have been converting boats to electric propulsion and integrating complete on-board energy systems. With Helios Marine, we are adding a modern, high-quality and fully electric new-build boat to our range. The first Helios Omega 7.2 has been ordered and will be on display and available for test sailings at HISWA te Water. Would you like to find out more about the boat or be one of the first to book a test sailing? Please get in touch with us.

THE HELIOS OMEGA 7.2

An electric day cruiser for both leisurely and sporty cruising

Helios Omega 7.2 — the new benchmark in electric boating

The Helios Omega 7.2 is a fully electric open cruiser, 7.2 metres long and 2.4 metres wide, designed for those who want to cruise in style, quietly and emission-free — without compromising on performance. With room for up to eight people, the Omega is the ideal luxury day boat, tender or electric cruiser for inland waterways, lakes and sheltered coastal waters.

Uncompromising performance
With an electric propulsion system of up to 50 kW, the Omega reaches a top speed of around 17 knots with the hardtop in place and up to 20 knots without it. Thanks to its smart energy management system and integrated solar hardtop, the boat combines sporty performance with an impressive range — for those who want to enjoy both relaxed cruising and more dynamic sailing.

Solar energy as the driving force behind the range
One of the Omega’s most distinctive features is its integrated solar hardtop. This continuously recharges the battery pack and, in fine weather, even makes it possible to sail entirely on solar power. Combined with the quiet propulsion system, this means longer, carefree days on the water — a real step forward in the evolution of electric boating.

Build quality that makes all the difference
The hull is constructed from a high-quality vacuum-formed polyester sandwich structure: rigid, lightweight and of exceptionally high build quality. This directly contributes to the boat’s efficiency, handling and service life.

Overview and monitoring: Helios Marine Link
On board, Helios Marine Link brings all control and monitoring functions together in a clear and organised manner. Batteries, the engine, solar power, energy consumption and on-board functions are easy to monitor and control — via the on-board display or via your mobile phone. This means the skipper is always in control, wherever they are, both whilst sailing and when ashore.

At home anywhere
Thanks to its spacious cockpit, low step-in height and modern finish, the Omega is just as suitable for a relaxing day out on the water as it is for a more sporty trip. From the canals of Amsterdam to the Frisian lakes and other boating areas in the Netherlands: the Helios Omega 7.2 is at home anywhere.

The Helios Omega 7.2 is therefore more than just an electric boat; it is a balanced combination of range, speed, build quality and versatility, and represents the next step in the evolution of electric boating.

ON-BOARD TECHNOLOGY

Cleverly integrated, well-organised and reliable

The Helios Omega 7.2 is fitted with a powerful electric drive and a modern LFP battery system. Depending on the model, the boat can be supplied with different battery capacities, allowing the configuration to be tailored to the intended use. The integrated solar panels support the energy system, even whilst underway. This ensures that the available energy is used more efficiently and reduces your reliance on shore charging. When the sun is shining, the Omega can travel at around 7 kilometres per hour without using the battery. The controls and monitoring system are also state-of-the-art. The smart on-board system gives you an overview of battery status, consumption, solar input and the drive system. This allows you to sail with confidence, knowing exactly how much energy is available.

DESIGNED FOR ELECTRIC BOATING

Not converted, but designed to be electric from the outset

With many electric boats, the electric propulsion system has been added to an existing design at a later stage. With the Helios Omega 7.2, it’s different. The boat has been developed with electric propulsion, energy storage and efficiency at its core. You’ll notice this in practice. The hull, weight distribution, battery position, propulsion system and solar integration are all finely tuned to work together. As a result, the boat sails quietly, responsively and predictably. The Omega responds smoothly, accelerates powerfully and remains comfortable and easy to handle at the same time. For E-WERF, it is precisely this integration that is important. An electric boat is only truly good when not just the motor is right, but the entire on-board system. That is why Helios Marine fits in well with our way of working: technically well thought-out, safely constructed and focused on long-term enjoyment on the water.

TECHNOLOGY

From the ground up to the cloud. Developed entirely from scratch.

The Helios Omega 7.2 is equipped with a digital control system developed entirely in-house. The Helios Digital Switch and Helios Marine Link bring together all key on-board functions in a single, clear interface. Lighting, the windlass, pumps, battery chargers, energy management and other electrical systems can be easily operated via the on-board multifunctional display or remotely via a smartphone.

Because all systems have been integrated with one another right from the design phase, the propulsion system, batteries, solar power and on-board electronics work together seamlessly. The result is fewer separate components, greater ease of use and complete control over the boat. Real-time insight into energy consumption, battery status, remaining range and system performance ensures that the skipper can focus entirely on sailing.

With automatic software updates, NMEA 2000 integration and a cloud platform for monitoring and diagnostics, the Helios Omega 7.2 is not only electric, but also fully equipped for the future of connected boating.

Helios Marine Battery

The Helios Omega 7.2 is fitted with a modular marine LFP battery system developed in-house by Helios. The batteries not only provide the power for the propulsion system, but also form part of the vessel’s overall electric platform.

Depending on the model, the Omega is available with various battery capacities, up to 54 kWh. This means the boat can be tailored to the desired use: from leisurely day trips to longer days out on the water with extra reserve power. In combination with the integrated solar hardtop, the battery pack is supported by solar energy whilst underway and at anchor.

Via Helios Marine Link, the skipper has a constant overview of the battery status, energy consumption, charge level and remaining range. This makes electric boating straightforward and predictable. You can see straight away how much energy is available, how much is being used and what this means for your trip.

Helios Marine Link

The electric drive, modular LFP batteries, charging infrastructure and on-board functions form part of a single integrated system. Via Helios Marine Link, the skipper can monitor speed, energy consumption, battery status, remaining range, solar yield and system performance. Control and monitoring are carried out via the on-board display or via the app.

But the technology doesn’t stop at the engine compartment. The Omega is connected from hull to cloud: from the hull and propulsion system to data, the app and remote monitoring. Features such as digital gear shifting, trip data, system alerts, GPS, geofencing, camera integration, NMEA 2000 connectivity and OTA updates make the boat more user-friendly, safer and easier to manage.

A single dashboard for the boat, energy and controls
The Helios Omega 7.2 is equipped with a modern dashboard that clearly integrates navigation, energy management and on-board controls. Via Helios Marine Link, the skipper has immediate insight into the most important systems on board, such as speed, power, battery status, remaining range, energy consumption, solar yield and charging status.

Control of the boat’s electrical systems is also integrated. Lighting, the windlass, pumps and other systems can be controlled via the display or the app. This keeps the cockpit uncluttered and organised, with fewer individual switches and greater control from a single central location.

The accompanying app also makes the Omega a truly connected boat. Even when you’re not on board, you can monitor the boat, view system information and, depending on the model, control functions remotely. This includes insights into battery status, the charging process, trip data, cameras and environmental information such as weather, wind and water conditions.

As Helios Marine Link is compatible with MFDs and NMEA 2000 networks, the system integrates seamlessly with modern marine electronics. Combined with software updates and remote monitoring, this ensures that the boat remains not only easy to operate, but also ready for further digital development.
